Giorgio Lambru

Consultant Neurologist and clinical lead of the Headache Centre, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Giorgio Lambru is a Consultant Neurologist and clinical lead of the Headache Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. He pioneered the first and only fast track cluster headache clinic in the United Kingdom. He runs a large multidisciplinary complex facial pain clinic and one of the largest headache neurostimulation services in the UK. He is involved in clinical and preclinical research in collaboration with the Headache laboratory within the Wolfson CARD-King’s College London.

Dr Lambru gained his degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan (Italy) in 2004. He then trained in Neurology at the University-Hospital of Parma (Italy), when he initially developed his interest in Headache medicine. As part of his training, he collaborated clinically and academically with the Headache Centre of the University of Parma from 2005 to 2009, actively involved in clinical epidemiological research in primary headache disorders. In 2010 he undertook a-one year clinical fellowship within the Headache group at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery developing an interest in cranial neuralgiform disorders that has led him to undertake a PhD degree in 2011 at the Institute of Neurology, UCL. Dr Lambru has authored a number of scientific publications and presented at national and international neurology conferences.
